David: I thought it was that. That's such nice brush inking - a real lost art. One more fussy question if you don't mind - you draw with colored pencils - is that so the drawing won't show up in a scan? What pencils? -- Mykal
In this case it's a Prismacolor Col-erase pencil, and the hue is carmine red.
I like to work in red because It gives me the option of doing another draft right on top with black pencil, in case I want to clean up or correct a drawing.
Also, it allows me to ink right on top, and then easily knock out the red in Photoshop (which I didn't bother to do in this case).

Nice! I don't even attempt to draw Popeye, surely one of the most complex characters ever created. You nailed it though, good job!
